My top hobbies range from playing guitar at my local church, volunteering to help less fortunate, to being part of intramural sports teams. My hobbies have taught me to be a team player and learn from what others have to teach.

Ramiro's Essay. What do you think the future of construction will be like and how will your education be applicable to this?

Construction workers literally builds the world we live in. I believe that the future of construction will remain the same for many centuries to come. The art of construction has been based on the simple building techniques that has help generation of builders build the most complex buildings.

I do hope that speed and new technologies reduce the cost of time and labor because it will allow humans to reach new potentials. If the builders can understand the basic construction techniques they can add their experience and new knowledge to increase the efficiency of their work.

I am not studying at Texas A&M to have a job in construction, I am studying to make construction a career. I always knew that construction was my calling ever since I was capable of helping my dad build CMU and brick houses in Mexico. For that reason, I plan to major in Construction Science because being educated in managing a construction company and knowing efficient building methods is essential to success in this building industry.

I strive to have my own successful construction company and build homes for families. With the education I am receiving, I will create jobs and homes for others. In addition, I believe that everyone has a right to make a life in a proper home even though most people cannot afford a house. Working in construction in Mexico really opened my eyes to the living standards that families inside their broken but humble homes. For that reason I have been inspired to eventually work with organizations that build residences in developing countries.

The gift of an education in construction should be shared because I have been blessed with this opportunity. Currently I am learning proper ways to build houses, International Building Codes, and recognizing what materials are needed for a project. Learning about construction fulfills my duty to serve families and excites me to become a future builder.
