Congratulations to our July Contractor of the Month, Fernando Ochoa! Fernando owns and operates his business, Neighborhood Beautification Artist and Builder, with his partner out of Roseville, CA. They have 10 years of experience contracting in the greater Sacramento Area.
Fernando and his partner Azzam specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodel work. He explained that contracting was the career he knew was right for himself based on schedule flexibility, ability to control his income, and the creativity allowed in the work performed. This is a line of work they feel he can be proud of.
The transition from Fernando’s prior job to starting his own company was the biggest challenge faced. At first, Fernando focused on his old job and contracting company simultaneously. This took away from the full effort and ability needed to get the new company off and running. Once some time has passed, things got easier and started looking better.
Contracting can have many surprises throughout the course of a job. Fernando says that for all of the jobs his company has performed, the most memorable was when he painted a room the color pink for a family with daughters. This was not the most difficult of jobs, however the color was exactly what they wanted and to see just how happy they were with the finished product made it all worthwhile.
